Just Monkey'n Around

 

Looks like we're headed out for....  fishing?  Water skiing?  Heading to some exotic island?   Yep, you got it.  We're headed to Isles de Monos which is Spanish for....  oh, you'll figure it out.  ;-)

We weren't going down the Panama Canal, but rather the Chagres River.  The scenery was superb.  And you could smell the thick jungle air.

And, then, right around this corner we came to Isles de Monos...  

...Island of Monkeys!!!

The only inhabitants of this island are monkeys.  Wild monkeys, but they have learned that when the boats pull up there's usually treats involved.  And if you know Sonja, you know she was dang sure going to give them treats.

I don't know who had more fun.  Sonja feeding the monkeys or me watching Sonja feeding the monkeys.  I wish I'd taken video of the contortions she was making with her body to get those monkeys to eat her treats.  It was a once in a lifetime experience and we loved it.
